Hazard Analysis Critical Control PointHACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points) is a system specific to the food industry which allows employees and employers to identify and control any hazards that may pose a threat to food safety. HACCP is a legal requirement - See here for further details As with many principles of 'good practice', prevention is better than cure, and Eurolec can also contribute to your HACCP solutions. There are certain key temperatures concerning various aspects of food manufacturing, food storage/transport and catering which need to be maintained to minimise the risks associated with pathogens. Many thermometers and probes in the Eurolec range are suitable for HACCP applications but some in particular, are ideal.
PC Temp PT2 thermometer with integral probe
This thermometer features very high system accuracy (+/- 0.2C between -30 and +100C), a permanently attached general purpose stainless steel probe on just under a metre of cable and hygienic wipe-clean surfaces. CS series temperature calibration sources
To comply with HACCP your thermometers must have a proven acceptable certified accuracy level. The CS series calibration units can provide further reassurance as to the accuracy of your portable thermometers, probes and infrared thermometers. If you have a number of thermometers in general use the CS units can quickly become a cost effective and time saving alternative to external calibration certification. When used in conjunction with the RT162 or PC Temp RT2 precision reference thermometers, the CS174 for example can provide a means of quickly and precisely checking the accuracy of your thermometers anywhere between 40C below ambient (in practice, usually approx. -20C) to +85C. Other models range up to 200C.
